CAMP1.jpg ORIGINAL CLOWN - OIL ON CANVAS - PAINTING BY JOSE LUIS CAMPUZANO!

This is an original oil on canvas painting by renowned artist Jose Luis Campuzano. This fine art piece depicts a hobo clown holding a flower and has been completed in great detail and amazing colors. Measuring 24” x 36”, the large canvas remains tight on a vintage Anco Bilt frame. The backside of the canvas is stamped with the serial number “253336” and with the letters “DE” which authenticates this as an original Campuzano. The artist has signed the piece on the lower left corner of the art. Photos do not do this piece justice. It is incredible!

Jose Luis Campuzano was born in Bilbao, Spain in 1918. He studied at the School of Arts and Functions and later entered the University of Victoria where he majored in philosophy. In 1955 he left Spain for South America. For the next decade, he worked as an artist, moving from Uruguay to Argentina and finally Brazil. During this period his paintings were shown in Bilboa, Spain; Montevideo, Uruguay; Sao Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Around 1971 he was awarded second place in the Collective Exposition in the Artesania Gallery in Spain. He also illustrated books, devised and built toys and worked as a graphic designer. At the urging of a well known South American artist who had moved to the United States, Campuzano came to New York City. In New York City he studied with well-known South American artist, Jorge Dumas, and Belgian born artist, G. Pierre. In the intervening years, he built a reputation for romantic street scenes and soaring abstracts. Those who collect his work agree that he is a master at creating an air of mysticism in whatever he paints. He was an admirer of Sorolla, Renoir, Soya and Rubens. Greatly influenced by Renoir, Campuzano excels in soft focus and the ability to move the imagination of the viewer out and beyond the frame.

This piece would make a wonderful addition to any art collection! This is your chance to own an original Jose Luis Campuzano! Please email us if you have questions or would like additional photos of this item. Free shipping and handling within the continental U.S.A.

This is a set of two framed nautical prints featuring lighthouses by the nationally acclaimed artist D. Morgan. This great looking set of prints features very nicely carved wood frames with glass fronts. The frames are painted a medium to dark blue nautical color. The double matting is a light cream color layered over the same nautical blue as the wooden frame. The frames have a few small dings that are barely noticeable while the prints are in excellent condition. There are a couple small tears in some of the brown backing but it does not impact the piece.  Each piece measures 11" x 16" x 1" deep.

Both prints have a saying printed circling the top of the lighthouse. The first print (lighthouse with blue stripe running beneath port hole window) has a saying of "Linger by the sea, where worldly cares are few” and is dated 1996. The second print (sold white lighthouse with red top) has a saying of "From far away, a friendly light" and is dated 1994.
